There are those who learn a
skill and do it well, and then there is Le'Vonne Biggs, who turns
skills into art forms she can utilize and teach, expands into new
territories, and inspires others to follow in her footsteps.
“It’s all about determination and imagination,” Le'Vonne states.“We
can achieve anything with that and faith in ourselves.” It began
with childhood short stories, painting, sketching, and a love for
museums of art, music and ballet. Taking every opportunity in high
school she classes in wood shop, art and advanced literature.
Teaching has always been one of Le'Vonne fortes. She even worked
with elementary/middle school children. Learned how to sell images
when she became a model learning the true meaning of fashion,
beauty and advertising. Graduating Carnegie Mellon University/Art
Institute via scholarship she quickly refined her talent for
creating and selling images.
After graduation Le'Vonne attended Pittsburgh Beauty Academy
receiving her Cosmetology degree. Spearheading the nail and salon
industry in Pittsburgh in 1990 developed in her the need for more
education. In 1992, she was accepted into the 'Educator
Program' for the National Cosmetology Association (N.C.A.),
becoming the only female Minority N.C.A. Educator in
Pennsylvania.
By 1996, she opened LéVonne de Spa and expanded her business
horizons by adding spa consulting services. Creating industry ads
with innovative, multi-cultural images, service ideas and concepts
she remarks “Salon and spa owners face the challenge not only
attracting consumer attention but keeping it. The solution is
service consistency coupled with strong representation of those
unique and luxus services." Le'Vonne specializes in creating salon,
spa and/or nail services and treatments that are long remembered
after thier completion. She adds "That is what builds businesses
and keeps patrons coming back year after year. Never allow your
clients to become bored."
Le'Vonne has appeared as a keynote speaker, mentored various salon
professionals, aided them in starting thier own businesses, and
even funded continuing education for a few. Today, Le'Vonne
continues to provide personal, innovative services to her clients
and assists the industry and its business owners with new ideas
that continue to raise the bar of spa excellence; a concept she has
appropriately named R.A.S.E.© She continues to travel throughout
the U.S., Carribean, West Indies and the Netherlands as a
consultant, journalist and educator. Assisting new and existing
business professionals to transform thier spa vision into reality
is what sets her apart from the rest.
